8 day climb with 4 day safari to Ngorongoro & Serengeti with 3 days in Zanzibar

This itinerary is recommended from July to October, when the Wildebeest Migration is expected to be in Northern Serengeti.

Arrival

1st August 2022: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).

Once you have completed customs formalities and collected your luggage, please exit the airport building and then look out for our driver who should be wearing a black Team Kilimanjaro t-shirt and carrying a placard with your name on it, who will be waiting under a shelter for you at the meeting point outside. Our driver will transfer you to Zawadi House for your 2 night stay.

2nd August 2022: At leisure at Zawadi House. Please let us know whether you need any assistance with organising activities for this day.

Your chief guide will come to your hotel for your pre-climb briefing on the evening of the climb, during which he will introduce himself, brief you on everything that will be happening throughout the duration of the climb, check any kit that you may have concerns over, issue any kit hire items that have been requested and he will also deal with any final pre-climb administration and answer any questions you may have.

Kilimanjaro

3rd August 2022: Your mountain guide and supporting crew will collect you from your hotel at approximately 0730 to transfer you to Kilimanjaro's Lemosho Gate to start your open 8 day TK Lemosho β€˜Advantage Series’ climb, finishing on 10th August 2022.

10th August 2022: We will collect you from Mweka Village when you finish your climb and will return you to Zawadi House for your overnight stay.

Safari

11th August 2022: Your safari driver will collect you at around 0730 from your hotel in Arusha and transfer you to Central Southern Serengeti for overnight in Serengeti Kati Kati Camp, with game drive en route.

12th August 2022: Game drives in Central Seronera in search of the region's permanent predator population as we move north towards the Mara River region, where we expect to find a very dense concentration of game. Overnight at Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp.

13th August 2022: Morning game drive in pursuit of the Wildebeest Migration in the hope of witnessing the dramatic Mara River crossing. Afternoon, drive south back towards Central Southern Serengeti for overnight at Serengeti Kati Kati.

14th August 2022: Early morning descent into Ngorongoro Crater for game drive. Afternoon, return to Arusha.

Zanzibar

15th August 2022: Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) at 1105 for flight to Zanzibar (ZNZ). Met by driver and transferred to Riu Palace in Zanzibar.

As from March 2021, PCR testing (or rather, sample-taking) is now available at Seronera and Ndutu airstrips in the Serengeti. This facility has been implemented to prevent clients having to either curtail their safaris or dissect their safaris with a journey to Arusha or, more recently, Karatu (FAME Hospital), mid-safari - so as to satisfy the "less than 72 hours old" validity rule that most airlines are required to enforce.
