
3 Day Mt Kenya Trek, 6 Day Lite Series Climb on TK Rongai Route With a 5 Day Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater
This safari is recommended from July to October, when the Wildebeest Migration is Northern Serengeti.
Arrival
27th June 2023: Arrive at Nairobi International Airport (NBO) on flight AF 0814 at 2120 and transfer to Four Points By Sheraton Nairobi Airport (own booking, accommodation and taxi).
Mount Kenya
28th June 2023: Collected by your mountain guide, chef and driver for transfer to Naro Moru Park Gate at 2,400m where we meet our porters and begin the trek (around 3-4 hours) to the Met Station at 3,050m on the western hills of Mount Kenya.
29th June 2023: Trek around 5-6 hours from Met Station to Mackinder Camp at 4,200m for your overnight stay.
30th June 2023: Begin the summit bid at around 0300, aiming to reach Point Lenana 4,985m at dawn. Descend too Mackinder Camp for breakfast. After a leisurely breakfast, you will trek another 4-5 hours to Met Station where we'll be met by a vehicle at around lunch time and transported back to Nairobi for overnight at Four Points By Sheraton Nairobi Airport (own booking).
1st July 2023: You will need to be at the meeting point to be collected by Riverside Shuttle at 0730 for the 0800 departure. The route crosses the border at Namanga where you'll be required to disembark, pass through security clearance, and complete immigration formalities. The bus should drop you at Zawadi House at around 1400.
2nd July 2023: At leisure at Zawadi House. Please let us know whether you need any assistance with organising activities for this day.
Kilimanjaro
3rd July 2023: Your mountain guide and supporting crew will collect you from your hotel at approximately 0730 to transfer you to Kilimanjaro's Naro Moru Gate to start your 6 day TK Rongai βLite Seriesβ climb, finishing on 8th July 2023.

8th July 2023: We will collect you from Marangu Gate when you finish your climb and will return you to Zawadi House in Arusha for your overnight stay.
Optional: Your safari guide will come to your hotel in Arusha for your pre-safari briefing at approximately 1800, during which he will introduce himself, brief you on everything that will be happening during the safari, and answer any questions you may have.
Safari
9th July 2023: Early morning departure from Arusha for transfer to Tarangire National Park for game drive. Late afternoon transfer to Nasikia Mandhari Lodge in Karatu.
10th July 2023: Morning game drive via Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route to Serengeti for your first night at Serengeti Kati Kati.
11th July 2023: Full day of game drives in Serengeti in hopes of witnessing the annual wildebeest migration. Afternoon transfer to Mara Kati Kati for your overnight.
12th July 2023: Early morning game drives in Serengeti en route to Ngorongoro Crater for overnight at Ngorongoro Kuhama Camp.
13th July 2023: An early start with breakfast boxes to Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the Crater for a game drive in hopes of witnessing the Big 5. In Africa, the Big Five is made up of the lion, rhinoceros, leopards, elephant and Cape buffalo. All of these animals are viewable within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, including the crater and are protected thanks to the wildlife conservation efforts of Tanzania.
Afternoon transfer to JRO for your flight (KL 0573) departing at 2115.
