9 Day Safari to Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Serengeti with Flight
This safari itinerary is recommended for the discerning traveller visiting from June to November - as this is when the migration is expected to be in the Mara Region - and who wants to minimise wasted transiting time in the vehicle.
Day 1 - Pick up at around 0845 from your hotel in Arusha for transfer by vehicle to Tarangire National Park. Afternoon game drives within the park. Overnight at Lemala Mpingo Ridge.
Day 2 - All day game drives in Tarangire National Park. Overnight at Lemala Mpingo Ridge.
Day 3 - Morning game drives in Tarangire. Afternoon transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for overnight at Lion’s Paw Camp.
Day 4 - Very early start, with the aim of being one of the first vehicles into the crater shortly after 0600 - to maximise the likelihood of rhino sightings. Descend with breakfast hamper into Ngorongoro Crater for full day game drive to include lunch inside the crater. Early evening return to Lion’s Paw Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 - After a leisurely breakfast, morning transfer to Seronera region of Serengeti in search of the permanent predator population. Overnight at Lemala Nanyukie.
Day 6 - Morning game drive in Seronera region. Afternoon transfer to northern Serengeti in pursuit of the Wildebeest Migration. Overnight at Lemala Kuria Hills.
Days 7 & 8 - Full day game drives within the heart of the Wildebeest Migration, to include patrols along the Mara River in the hope of witnessing the the River Crossing - the annual highlight of the world’s safari calendar. Overnight at Lemala Kuria Hills.
Day 9: Morning game drives along the Mara River area in the hope of witnessing the dramatic Wildebeest Crossing. Afternoon transfer to Kogatende airstrip for flight at 1455 to Arusha, arriving at 1820. Met by driver at Arusha Airport and transferred to your hotel in Arusha.
