7 Day Safari to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Lake Eyasi, Ngorongoro Crater & Serengeti
This safari itinerary is recommended from July to October when we expect the Migration to be in Northern Serengeti.
12th August 2022: Arrive to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Met by TK driver and transferred to Machweo for check-in.
Collected by Athumani and transferred to his family home to meet his wife and have tea or coffee at his homestead. Transfer to Arusha Town to see the local central market and Maasai craft market before returning to your hotel for overnight.
Around 1800 - 1900, please be ready for your safari guide to come and very briefly introduce himself and answer any last-minute questions you may have about tomorrow's safari.
Dinner and overnight at Machweo (available).
13th August 2022: Collected by your safari guide at 0730 and transferred to Tarangire National Park for game drive. Evening transfer to AndBeyondβs Lake Manyara Tree Lodge (not available) for overnight.
14th August 2022: Morning game drive at Lake Manyara National Park. Late afternoon transfer to Ziwani Lodge (awaiting availability confirmation) in the Lake Eyasi area for dinner and overnight.
15th August 2022: Very early morning transfer from your lodge to a location recently reconnoitred by your local Eyasi guide, where we will find some Hadzabe Bushmen hunters to join on their morning hunt, learning aspects of hunting and survival training along the way. Afterwards, we move to a larger settlement where we meet the Hadzabe ladies and learn some of their foraging skills.
Late afternoon transfer to Ngorongoro Crater rim for overnight at AndBeyondβs Ngorongoro Crater Lodge (only 3 rooms available).
16th August 2022: Early morning descent into Ngorongoro Crater for game drive. Afternoon transfer to Nasikiaβs Naona Meru Tented Camp (awaiting availability confirmation), with visit to an authentic Maasai boma en route.
17th August 2022: Explore the Seronera area in search of the permanent predator population in central Serengeti. Afternoon, transfer to Nasikiaβs Kazkaz Mara Tented Camp (awaiting availability confirmation) for overnight.
18th August 2022: Game drives in the Mara Region of Serengeti in the heart of the Wildebeest Migration. We aim to witness a Mara River crossing, perhaps the most dramatic event in the annual safari calendar. Overnight at Kazkaz Mara Tented Camp (awaiting availability confirmation).
19th August 2022: Early morning transfer to launch site for hot air balloon ride in aerial pursuit of the Great Migration.
Afternoon transfer to Kogatende airstrip in time for the 1455 Coastal Aviation departure arriving into Arusha Airport at 1820. Met by driver and transferred to Onsea House for dinner and overnight at Machweo - available - (adjacent to Onsea).
20th August 2022: Morning - collected by vehicle to visit the Cultural Heritage Centre. Afternoon transfer to JRO for flight home.
