
7 Day Climb with a 3 Day Safari to Tarangire, Lake Manyara & Ngorongoro Crater
This itinerary is recommended throughout the year.
Arrival
9th July 2022: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) at 1430 on flight KQ 426.
Once you have completed customs formalities and collected your luggage, please exit the airport building and then look out for our driver who should be wearing a black Team Kilimanjaro t-shirt and carrying a placard with your name on it, who will be waiting under a shelter for you at the meeting point outside. Our driver will transfer you to The Outpost Lodge for your overnight stay.
10th July 2022: Day at leisure at The Outpost Lodge. Please let us know if you would like a guide to meet you at the lodge today and escort you into town to assist with local sightseeing or shopping.
Your chief guide will come to your hotel for your pre-climb briefing at approximately 1800, during which he will introduce himself, brief you on everything that will be happening throughout the duration of the climb, check any kit that you may have concerns over, issue any kit hire items that have been requested and he will also deal with any final pre-climb administration and answer any questions you may have.
Kilimanjaro
11th July 2022: Your mountain guide and supporting crew will collect you from your hotel at approximately 0730 to transfer you to Kilimanjaro's Lemosho Gate to start your open 7 day TK Rongai βAdvantage Seriesβ climb, finishing on 17th July 2022.

17th July 2022: We will collect you from Marangu Gate when you finish your climb and will return you to The Outpost Lodge for your overnight with a stop for lunch en route at Moshi.
Safari
Optional: If requested, your safari guide will come to your hotel at approximately 1800, during which he will introduce himself, brief you on everything that will be happening during the safari, and answer any questions you may have.
18th July 2022: Your driver will collect you from your hotel at around 0730. Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park for game drive. Late afternoon transfer to Ngorongoro Kuhama Tented Camp for overnight close to the crater rim.
19th July 2022: Descend onto Ngorongoro Crater for early morning game drive. Afternoon transfer to Tarangire for your overnight stay at Mawe Tarangire Baobab Tented Camp.
20th July 2022: Morning game drive in Tarangire National Park. Afternoon transfer to KIA Lodge for early dinner. Please be ready at 1815 for the 5 minute transfer to JRO for your PW 437 flight to Zanzibar, departing at 2000.

Many people spend a lot of time and money training and equipping themselves for a Kilimanjaro climb, only to fail in their objective of reaching the summit. Failure is avoidable and we really want trekkers to understand how to prevent it.
As from March 2021, PCR testing (or rather, sample-taking) is now available at Seronera and Ndutu airstrips in the Serengeti. This facility has been implemented to prevent clients having to either curtail their safaris or dissect their safaris with a journey to Arusha or, more recently, Karatu (FAME Hospital), mid-safari - so as to satisfy the "less than 72 hours old" validity rule that most airlines are required to enforce.
Arusha Pedal Series club aims to organise a group ride three times a week - on Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, and Saturdays. All keen cyclists are welcome to join.
We read widely divergent estimates of deaths on Kilimanjaro, but how dangerous is it really? In this post we share our own experience of the dangers.
First of all - you can definitely still climb Kilimanjaro during COVID-19! There is absolutely no impediment within Tanzania. Issues only potentially arise with your own country's rules.
Although there is no requirement to have a PCR test for COVID in order to enter Tanzania, many climbers are nonetheless required by their airline to show evidence of a negative COVID test before boarding the flight home.
