5 Day Safari to Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater

Recommended throughout the year.

5th August 2022: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).

Once you have completed customs formalities and collected your luggage, please exit the airport building and then look out for our driver who should be wearing a black Team Kilimanjaro t-shirt and carrying a placard with your name on it, who will be waiting under a shelter for you at the meeting point outside. Our driver will transfer you to The Outpost Lodge for your overnight stay in a double room on B&B basis.

Your chief guide will come to your hotel for your pre-climb briefing at approximately 1800, during which he will introduce himself, brief you on everything that will be happening throughout the duration of the climb, check any kit that you may have concerns over, issue any kit hire items that have been requested and he will also deal with any final pre-climb administration and answer any questions you may have.

Kilimanjaro

6th August 2022: Your mountain guide and supporting crew will collect you from your hotel at approximately 0730 to transfer you to Kilimanjaro's Lemosho Gate to start your open 8 day TK Lemosho β€˜Advantage Series’ climb, finishing on 13th August 2022.

8 day TK Lemosho Route

13th August 2022: We will collect you from Mweka Village when you finish your climb and will return you to The Outpost Lodge for your overnight stay in a double room on B&B basis.

Your safari guide will come to your hotel for your pre-climb briefing at approximately 1800, during which he will introduce himself, brief you on everything that will be happening during the safari, and answer any questions you may have.

Safari

14th August 2022: Your safari guide will collect you from your hotel in Arusha at approximately 0730 to start your safari. Transfer from Arusha to Tarangire National Park for a game drive. Afternoon transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for overnight at Rhino Lodge, close the the Crater's rim.

15th August 2022: After an early breakfast, descend into Crater for game drive. Afternoon transfer to Serengeti's Seronera area with game drive en route. Overnight at Narudi Seronera Tented Camp.

16th August 2022: Morning game drives in Seronera in search of the permanent predator population. Afternoon transfer to Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp for overnight.

17th August 2022: Morning game drives along the Mara River area in the hope of witnessing the dramatic Wildebeest Crossing. Afternoon transfer to Mbugani Seronera Lodge for overnight.

18th August 2022: Morning game drives in Serengeti's Seronera region. Afternoon transfer via Ngorongoro Conservation Area to The Outpost Lodge in Arusha, or to Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Zanzibar

19th August 2022: Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) for flight (own booking) to Zanzibar (ZNZ). Met by driver and transferred to Sunshine Marine Lodge.

19th to 22nd August 2022: 5 nights at Sunshine Marine Lodge in one of their Blue Breeze Suites on half board basis.

22nd August 2022: Transfer after check out from Sunshine Marine Lodge to Zanzibar Airport for flight (own booking) to JRO. Met by TK driver and transferred to The Outpost Lodge for overnight.

23rd August 2022: Transfer to JRO for home-bound flight.

Tipping is a universal custom on Kilimanjaro and on safari and has always constituted a significant proportion of a guide or porter’s salary. It is alleged that there are even companies operating locally that do not pay their staff any salaries and that these workers rely exclusively on tips.
