9 Day Safari to Tarangire, Lake Eyasi, Ngorongoro Crater & Serengeti - with flight
This safari itinerary is recommended for the discerning traveller visiting from June to November - as this is when the migration is expected to be in the Mara Region - and who wants to minimise wasted transiting time in the vehicle.
Day 1: Pick up at around 0845 from your hotel in Arusha for transfer by vehicle to Tarangire National Park. Afternoon game drives within Tarangire National Park. Overnight at Lemala Mpingo Ridge.
Day 2: Early morning game drive in Tarangire National Park. Afternoon transfer to Lake Eyasi with game drives en route to Ziwani House for your overnight stay.
Day 3: Very early morning transfer from your lodge to a location recently reconnoitred by your local Eyasi guide, where we will find some Hadzabe Bushmen hunters to join on their morning hunt, learning aspects of hunting and survival training along the way. Afterwards, we move to a larger settlement where we meet the Hadzabe ladies and learn some of their foraging skills.
Day 4: Morning game drives en route to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Afternoon transfer to Lion’s Paw Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Early morning descent into Crater for game drives in hopes of witnessing the Big 5. In Africa, the Big Five is made up of the lion, rhinoceros, leopards, elephant and Cape buffalo. All of these animals are viewable within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, including the crater and are protected thanks to the wildlife conservation efforts of Tanzania.
Afternoon transfer to Seronera region of Serengeti with game drives en route to Lemala Nanyukie for your overnight stay.
Day 6: Morning game drive in Seronera region. Afternoon transfer to northern Serengeti in pursuit of the Wildebeest Migration. Overnight at Lemala Kuria Hills.
Days 7 & 8: Full day game drives within the heart of the Wildebeest Migration, to include patrols along the Mara River in the hope of witnessing the the River Crossing - the annual highlight of the world’s safari calendar. Overnight at Lemala Kuria Hills.
Day 9: Morning game drives along the Mara River area in the hope of witnessing the dramatic Wildebeest Crossing. Afternoon transfer to Kogatende airstrip for flight at 1455 to Arusha, arriving at 1820. Met by driver at Arusha Airport and transferred to your hotel in Arusha.
