8 Day Climb, Day Trip to Arusha National Park & 4 Day Safari to Tarangire, Lake Ndutu & Ngorongoro Crater
This safari itinerary is recommended from November to April when we expect the Migration to be in the Ndutu area of southern Serengeti / northern Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Arrival

29th December 2022: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) at 0240 flight (TBA).
Once you have completed customs formalities and collected your luggage, please exit the airport building and then look out for our driver who should be wearing a black Team Kilimanjaro t-shirt and carrying a placard with your name on it, who will be waiting under a shelter for you at the meeting point outside. Our driver will transfer you to Zawadi House for your first night stay.

Arusha National Park
31st December 2022: Collected from your hotel in Arusha at around 0730. Transferred by vehicle to Arusha National Park Gate for registration. Proceed with vehicle to viewpoint at end of vehicle track.
From here, we walk towards the Ash Cone, to an altitude of around 2,400 metres, with picnic lunch along the way, achieving a useful, low intensity acclimatisation day prior to starting your Kilimanjaro climb tomorrow.
On a clear day, this vantage point affords excellent views of Kilimanjaroβs peak, 42 miles away.
After lunch, descend on foot to vehicle and begin a short safari around the Momella Lakes where we hope to see some of the following: giraffe, elephant, hippo, buffalo, zebra and wildebeest.
Late afternoon, return to Zawadi House in Arusha for dinner and overnight.
Your chief guide will come to your hotel for your pre-climb briefing at approximately 1800, during which he will introduce himself, brief you on everything that will be happening throughout the duration of the climb, check any kit that you may have concerns over, issue any kit hire items that have been requested and he will also deal with any final pre-climb administration and answer any questions you may have.
Kilimanjaro
1st January 2023: Your mountain guide and supporting crew will collect you from your hotel at approximately 0730 to transfer you to Kilimanjaro's Lemosho Gate to start your open 8 day TK Lemosho βAdvantage Seriesβ climb, finishing on 8th January 2023.

8th January 2023: We will collect you from Mweka Village when you finish your climb and will return you to Arusha Planet Lodge for your overnight stay.
9th January 2023: At leisure at Arusha Planet Lodge. Again, do please let us know whether you need any assistance with organising activities for this day or whether you wish for your guide to accompany you for the day in town.
Optional: if requested, your safari guide will come to Arusha Planet Lodge for your pre-climb briefing at approximately 1800, during which he will introduce himself, brief you on everything that will be happening during the safari, and answer any questions you may have.
Safari
10th January 2023: Collected by your safari guide at around 0730 and transferred to Tarangire National Park for game drive. Afternoon transfer to AndBeyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge for dinner and overnight.
11th January 2023: Morning game drives in Lake Manyara, afternoon transfer to Lake Ndutu area of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for game drive within the heart of the Wildebeest Migration.
Late afternoon transfer to AndBeyondβs Ndutu Under Canvas for overnight.
12th January 2023: Early morning game drives in the Ndutu area. Afternoon transfer to Maasai Boma en route to AndBeyondβs Ngorongoro Crater Lodge for dinner and overnight.
13th January 2023: Early morning descent into Ngorongoro Crater for full day game drive in hopes of witnessing the Big 5. In Africa, the Big Five is made up of the lion, rhinoceros, leopards, elephant and Cape buffalo. All of these animals are viewable within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, including the crater and are protected thanks to the wildlife conservation efforts of Tanzania.
Late afternoon return to Arusha Planet Lodge for your overnight.
