Tanzanian Safaris with Team Kilimanjaro

Large cities continue to proliferate. In the coming decades and centuries, men will not travel to view marvels of engineering, but they will leave the dusty towns in order to behold the last places on earth where God’s creatures are peacefully living. Countries which have preserved such places will be envied by other nations and visited by streams of tourists. There is a difference between wild animals living a natural life and famous buildings. Palaces can be rebuilt if they are destroyed in wartime, but once the wild animals of the Serengeti are exterminated no power on earth can bring them back.

What will I see on a Team Kilimanjaro safari?

One of our clients has taken the trouble to curate all her photos from a recent safari with us. Her presentation gives a wonderful insight into what one may hope to encounter on a TK safari:

The majority of wildlife viewing safaris undertaken by visitors to Tanzania aim to see as much varied wildlife as possible within the time available and will usually visit Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. Such a safari requires a minimum of 4 days, or 3 days if you'd like us to arrange domestic flights for you. Those with more time will often incorporate Tarangire or lake Manyara into their safari itinerary, or may visit the Hadzabe Bushmen at Lake Eyasi, or the Maasai of Lake Natron.

The Wildebeest Migration

Before planning a safari, it's helpful to have an idea of wildlife movements. It is a well-established phenomenon in Tanzania that broadly speaking, where one may expect to find game is closely connected to where we find the Wildebeest Migration throughout the year.

This is because predators gravitate towards dense wildebeest populations to facilitate predation, and herbivores will move towards where the grazing is best, and of course this criterion is the primary driver for the wildebeest themselves.

Wildebeest Migration Map

This diagram below demonstrates, very approximately, where we would expect to find the Wildebeest Migration throughout the year, so when requesting specific national parks and conservation areas to be included within your safari itinerary, please bear these movements in mind.

Private Game-Viewing Safaris from Inexpensive Lightweight Camping to Extravagant Luxury!

We can arrange safaris in Northern Tanzania on private basis for any group size on any day of the year. Just contact us and let us know what kind of expectations you have for your safari - maximum game sightings; avoidance of crowds of other visitors; incorporating a cultural, adventurous or physically challenging element that gets you out of the vehicle - and let your Team Kilimanjaro coordinator propose a customised itinerary to you that they believe will provide you with the greatest satisfaction.

Zanzibar Island Beach Holidays

While some half of our climbers request to go on safari with us following their climbs, many will make their way to Zanzibar or Fish Eagle Point for a few days, so as to end their Tanzanian vacation with well-deserved rest in a tropical island idyll.

In response to this growing demand, we have spent the last few years developing excellent relationships with around forty of what we believe represent the best of Zanzibar’s accommodation providers.

Zanzibar Hotels

Many of our climbers will climb Kilimanjaro, go on safari, and then fly to Zanzibar for a few days. We are able to book pretty much any hotel in Zanzibar for our Kilimanjaro and safari clients, and usually get a slightly better rate than when travellers book direct or through sites like Booking.com.

Safari Itineraries

We offer a pretty-much infinite selection of safaris to anywhere within Tanzania's  Northern Circuit, from 1-day safaris to 30-day epics! We offer all accommodation available on the market and can usually secure substantial discounts against published lodge rates.

Here is a random selection of safaris below. πŸ‘‡ Feel free to refer to one and ask us to extend, excise, adapt or customise; or suggest an entirely new itinerary and we'll work on it and cost it for you.
